ABOUT

May you find a treasure amongst the trove while you explore my work, be it something precious or a little nutty. My works are a whimsical collection of creatures and imagery that are personally meaningful. Every piece has its own unique nuances, making for an exciting and diverse collection to explore.

The method with which I make my art is an ever-shifting and evolving path. It is something I both guide and follow. Often, I have little more than a glimpse of where it leads, yet every step I take changes its course. The initial mark I make sets the tone for the rest of the piece, with each successive mark adding to an overall set of rules. Gradually, a rough pattern emerges as I uncover the individual journey of each piece.

The variety of materials with which I work provide an abundance of possibilities to explore. Just as one may crave certain foods, I crave to work with different materials, particularly ceramics, paint, metals, and wood. Each material is satisfying in its own right and the variety of materials available opens many paths.

My artwork is deeply rooted in elements that I consider to be personally spiritual. I wish to create a space that feels as if entering into a curious, wonderous realm my artwork embodies. An inviting space that is welcoming and homely. This atmosphere encourages connection, where the viewer's presence and time are valued.

I would compare having one of my pieces to having a favorite pair of socks or a lucky bracelet. Regardless of if omens and luck are to be believed; we all have our own little things that we prefer a certain way. A sort of vocabulary of small quirky comfort to start the day on the right foot.
